Is Psychiatric Care a Viable Option?
Psychiatric care is all about the treatment of mental disorders, also referred to as mental illness. A mental disorder can be defined as an abnormal medical condition that is related to an individual’s emotions or thoughts. The condition can either be physical, emotional, or psychological. This condition can be caused by biochemical imbalances in the body, physical diseases, genetic factors, heart diseases, diabetes, or cancer. High stress levels can also contribute to this condition.
The most common indicators of such a condition are mood swings, being irritable or sad, excessive fears, confused thinking, worrying about everything, continuous feelings of anger, social withdrawal, suicidal thoughts, hallucinations, delusions, or clearly visible changes in eating and sleeping habits. This condition can result in mental disorders like dementia, anxiety disorders, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and eating disorders.
Professional Help is Available
Some people are in denial about certain indicators that might lead to developing a mental disorder. These indicators cannot simply be wished away and would need immediate attention. If an individual attempts to resolve these issues by themselves, there is always a chance of failure. This can lead to promoting the development of a mental illness, instead of dampening its progress. Professional help for people suffering from mental illness is a viable method of dealing with a developed disorder. Should the disorder still be in development, psychiatric care can also be beneficial to the patient.
The first step is to identify the disorder and seek professional help. For people who are aware of their disorder, this process can be much easier. However, if someone is in complete denial about their mental health, it can be impossible to convince them to get the help that they clearly need. A haughty attitude will also be detrimental to the mental health of the affected individual. Although the causes for mental disorders can vary, it can be very useful to identify them before they can make a negative impact on a person’s life. When it comes to mental health and wellbeing, there is no room for denial or dismissive behaviour. It is time to get serious and seek psychiatric care before it is too late.
Beethoven Recovery Centre can Help
Any person from 16 years and older can be admitted to our centre for psychiatric care. Mental illness is not like a regular disease where medicine will completely cure it. The outcome of the treatment is heavily dependent on the specific mental illness. Patients will be treated in accordance to their unique requirements. Therefore, the patient will be empowered to deal with their mental illness. Certain disorders can be treated in such a way that it would barely have an influence on them. However, others can be more serious, with prolonged effects on the affected person.
Our professional team will walk the road with a patient and deliver optimal results. The programme that we are utilising follows a bio-psycho-social-educational approach, focusing on the total being of the patient to secure the best results. This programme is very flexible and is designed to fit every patient in a unique way. The first phase of the psychiatric care programme consists of a 3-week compulsory programme, where the patient is guided and assisted to understand the illness and learn ways to overcome it, or deal with it in a regular daily routine. The better a patient knows themselves, the better they can handle and cope with the illness. Our programme opens a new world for the patient, equipping them with the required knowledge about themselves and their illness. The patients will undergo medical examinations, psychological consultations and assessment, and psychiatric evaluation. There are also various therapy sessions for each patient, utilising art, music, and group therapy to optimise the results and the experience for every individual.
The second phase of our psychiatric care programme is voluntary and covers 4 weeks. It empowers them to live without a dependence on others, and to face life again without any fear. These weeks are filled with sessions on gaining physical and emotional strength and reminding the patient that there is always something to live for. It can turn out to be one of the most important times in that patient’s life.
