Mental Health Hospital

More Than Just Another Mental Health Hospital

Beethoven Recovery Centre features a psychiatric care unit that is more than just another mental health hospital, serving as a feasible solution for people suffering from mental disorders. Our psychiatric care unit admits people that are 16 and older, giving them a physical and psychiatric evaluation when they are admitted to our centre. This allows us to adapt our versatile programme to the needs of the individual specifically, ensuring that our professional medical personnel can see to each individual’s needs in our care. This is what sets our psychiatric care unit apart from the others.

Removed from the City

Our premises are just outside Pretoria, next to the Hartbeespoort dam and the Magaliesberg mountains. We are surrounded by beautiful mother nature, creating a peaceful and tranquil environment that helps our patients to relax and focus on their treatment programme without any distractions. We offer comfortable accommodation for our patients, with a professional chef that prepares 3 meals a day, with some in-between snacks as well. Our premises also feature extramural activities for recreational purposes, along with a gym to stay in shape while in our care.

Mental Health Awareness

Most people that are not afflicted by a mental disorder think that they will never need a mental health hospital in their lives. Although there are several developmental and genetically inherited mental disorders, there are others that can develop as a result of a traumatic experience, social behavioural patterns, or drastic life event such as a divorce or a heart attack. Recent studies also suggest that COVID-19 is linked to the development of PTSD and severe depression in people who had COVID-19 and survived. Nobody can predict the impact of the current vaccines on mental health, which is why it is important to be aware of the possibility that you might be susceptible to being affected by a mental disorder in the future.

PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and severe depression can drastically alter your daily routine, mood, and motivation. People suffering from such mental disorders can seek professional treatment to overcome these disorders and get back to their lives. Regular mental health hospitals might give you a generic solution to treatment for these disorders. However, our programme will tailor a solution around you, giving you the knowledge and toolset to overcome such a disorder.

Our Programme

We utilise a programme that is not only versatile and adaptable, but also wholistic, as it addresses the entire being as opposed to only focussing on their mental health. The programme stretches over 7 weeks and is split into 2 distinct phases. The second phase of the programme is voluntary, but comes highly recommended, as it focusses on social reintegration and how to rebuild your life once you leave our care. Therefore, you will be equipped to stand on your own 2 feet once again, not being influenced by the symptoms of PTSD or severe depression.
