Our Approach to Drug Rehabilitation
When someone brings up the topic of drug addiction, nobody likes to admit that they might be addicted to an addictive substance, while the majority of addicts are not even aware about their addiction. When referring to a drug, most people also jump to hard drugs such as cocaine. However, addictive substances are present in more than just cocaine. Nicotine and caffeine addiction can be just as detrimental as being addicted to a hard drug. Fortunately, there is hope for people who have become substance-dependent and want to overcome their addiction for good. Drug rehabilitation can be your answer.
The Dangers of Substance Addiction
There are several ways that you can become addicted to a specific substance, with the most common method being overdosing. You can also develop a substance addiction if you take chronic medication that contains addictive substances. Therefore, it is pivotal to discuss such matters with your medical professional if you are on chronic medication. The dangers of substance addiction show themselves when the person either denies that they are an addict or is not yet aware that their body is addicted to a specific substance. This level of addiction can directly influence their social behaviour, decision-making ability, and awareness of their responsibilities towards others. This is where our drug rehabilitation programme can be the light at the end of a dark tunnel.
Our Drug Rehabilitation Programme
We admit people of 18 years and older to our drug rehabilitation programme on a voluntary basis, showing that they are willing to overcome their addiction with our help. Our programme offers a wholistic approach that focusses on the entire being and not just the addiction. It is versatile and allows us to adapt the programme to suit the needs of the specific individual, giving them a real shot at overcoming their addiction.
Our drug rehabilitation programme covers 7 weeks and features 2 phases. The first phase aims to educate and equip the patient on their addiction and the way addiction has an influence on their life. During his phase, the patient must make a choice – whether they want to break free from their addiction or fall back into that endless spiral. The second phase of the programme is voluntary and highly recommended, as it focusses on social reintegration and how to forge a path in life that is free of addiction.
Our Location
We are located next to the Hartbeespoort dam and Magaliesberg mountains, surrounded by nature in all her glory. Therefore, the patients will experience peace and tranquillity when they are in our care, allowing them to focus on themselves and how they are fighting to overcome their addiction without any distractions. We offer extramural activities and a gym on our premises, along with comfortable accommodation and chef-cooked meals 3 times a day.
