Addiction is one of the most common struggles for young adults in Gauteng. With several addictive substances, apart from hard drugs, being openly available for the public to purchase and consume, the majority develop addictions to substances such as caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol without even realising that they are addicted. Thankfully, Beethoven Recovery Centre offers a remotely located rehab centre that is ideally suited to people who want to overcome their addiction without any familiar distractions.
Located just outside Pretoria and surrounded by beautiful mother nature, our rehab centre removes the person from a familiar environment – where they are constantly distracted and engaged with other elements in their lives as opposed to having the time to focus on their addiction. Our rehabilitation centre offers a versatile programme that is adaptable to the individual and their specific needs. As a result, we create an ideal environment for rehab and deliver a wholistic solution for people who want to overcome their addiction for good.
The Dangers of Addiction
Young adults love to party and consume as much alcoholic beverages as they possibly can during their social gatherings. Alcohol addiction is one of the most common forms of addiction in South Africa. The danger of being addicted is that such an addiction takes control of your life and directly influences your decision-making ability and priorities. Alcohol addiction can also create a rift between you and the people that you care for, especially when they point out specific behaviours that you exhibit when under the influence of alcohol. This leads to initial denial and arguments where the alcoholic defends themselves – claiming that alcohol has no power over them.
In reality, it is nearly impossible for an addict to see the devastating effects that their addiction has on themselves and the people that they care about. In turn, such a mindset only enhances the grip that addiction has on their lives, as opposed to coming to the realisation that they need a professional rehab centre to assist them to take back control of their lives. Beethoven Recovery Centre only admits people who are willing and committed to overcome their addiction – giving them a true shot at a life of sober living wellness. This approach is also reflected in our programme.
Our Programme for People Who Want to Overcome Addiction for Good
We admit people of 18 years and older to our rehabilitation programme, strictly on a voluntary basis. The programme stretches over 7 weeks and is divided into 2 distinct phases. The first phase emphasises the dangers of addiction and educates the patient on how their lives are negatively influenced by their specific addiction. This phase aims to lead the patient to a place where they must decide to overcome their addiction and find their way back to life that is free from its binding ties.
The second phase of our rehabilitation programme puts the focus on social reintegration and maintaining a life of sober living wellness, as opposed to only waiting for an inevitable relapse. This phase is complete voluntary and comes highly recommended to anyone who completed the first phase and want to forge a new path for their lives moving forward. By completing the second phase, the patient will be equipped to reintegrate into society as a sober person and avoid relapsing for the foreseeable future.
